Douglas Towne

Douglas TowneDouglas Towne is the editor of Arizona Contractor and Community magazine, which was launched in 2012 to cover the state’s construction industry, past and present. Since 2004 he’s been the editor for the Society for Commercial Archeology, the oldest nationwide group devoted to roadside vernacular architecture. He’s written more than 60 history articles for PHOENIX magazine including a story about the Green Book, “Righteous Recommendations,” in 2011. He also authors a monthly history column for the Arizona Republic and has contributed articles to the Journal of Arizona History, Modern Phoenix, IKEA’s Space, and Route 66 magazine.
