Attend this workshop to learn about the issues that historic preservation commissioners face every day. A survey will be taken of Certified Local Governments in Arizona to determine exactly what topics will be covered. Those under consideration include: historic preservation design review using a hands-on exercise, designation of properties, developing and using standards and design guidelines, components of an effective historic preservation program, education and outreach, dealing with political issues, legal basics and staying out of court, ethics, etc.
