Katie MacFarland

Dr. MacFarland is a Research Specialist at the Arizona State Museum with more than 13 years experience handling the multi-faceted needs of the largest and busiest state-operated archaeological repository in the United States. A focus of her recent work at ASM is the organization and structure of the Archaeological Records Office (ARO), handling long-term curation concerns of legacy collections, repatriation issues, conducting Records Research for archaeologists, and implementing changes to ASM’s fee structure and services. Recently awarded her Ph.D. from the University of Arizona, Dr. MacFarland’s dissertation research investigated continental-scale patterning of religious symbolism in Iron Age north-central Eurasia.
